Material handling systems would be a plus. No need for any specific products. But strong project management skills.. Reports to the CIO

WMS Project Manager Position Overview:
As a WMS Project Manager, reporting to the CIO you will be instrumental in shaping our IT landscape, overseeing the optimization of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS). This role requires a deep understanding of IT infrastructure, software development, and an acute awareness of the unique challenges within a distribution center. The WMS Project Manager will be crucial in enhancing our distribution center’s efficiency, accuracy, and overall performance through strategic optimization and maintenance of WMS solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Planning:
Develop and execute a strategic plan for the optimization and maintenance of WMS, aligned with the company’s business objectives and growth strategies.
Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies, providing recommendations for continuous improvement of our WMS capabilities.

2. Team Leadership and Management:
Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of IT professionals, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
Supervise the ongoing maintenance and support of WMS solutions, ensuring high-quality performance.
Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to team members, promoting professional development and growth.

3. Vendor Collaboration:
Collaborate closely with WMS vendors, managing vendor relationships, negotiations, and contracts.
Evaluate WMS vendor proposals and solutions, ensuring they align with our technical requirements and budget constraints.
Oversee vendor performance, holding them accountable for meeting agreed-upon service levels and support standards.

4. System Optimization and Performance Monitoring:
Monitor WMS performance, identifying and addressing bottlenecks, and implementing optimization strategies to enhance efficiency.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze user feedback and WMS system performance data, making data-driven decisions for continuous improvement.
Implement best practices for system maintenance and performance optimization, ensuring the WMS operates at peak efficiency.
Take full ownership of the warehouse system. Serve as the go-to resource for
