Job Description:
We are seeking a highly motivated Windows Server Administrator who demonstrates a commitment to customer service and possesses strong technical skills. The ideal candidate will be proficient in working with Windows Server/desktop operating systems, user administration, file systems, software, and services.
Responsibilities:
- Administer Windows Server/desktop operating systems, users, file systems, software, and services.
- Understand server and various storage RAID configurations.
- Manage Active Directory, including backup and recovery of domain and GPO setup.
- Troubleshoot fundamental networking concepts such as DHCP, DNS, Routing, and Firewall.
- Apply fundamental security principles, including ACL and Encryption.
- Script using PowerShell, bash, ksh, or perl for automating routine tasks.
- Monitor system health and performance, provide statistics to identify bottlenecks, and lead optimization efforts.
- Plan and perform disaster recovery, including backup and restore for systems, applications, and data.
- Manage patch and firmware installations.
- Provide strong customer service with a plus-1 end-user support experience.
Skills:
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and flexible to handle multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
- Exercise good judgment and render sound business decisions.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to produce documentation on solutions and system design.
- Bachelor’s degree (preferably in Information Technology) with a minimum of 8 years’ experience in IT Support.
- Strong technical knowledge of various computing platforms from servers, networks, storage, including scripting experience for automation.
- Ability to lift/transport server equipment when needed.
- Provide off-hour, on-call support for workstation, server, and other system-related issues that require travel to various supported sites.
- Willing and able to work overtime and be flexible with work hours to respond to emergencies or scheduled work outside normal business hours.
- Have the means and ability to travel to various company locations.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
