Description

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test plans for Wi-Fi routers, extenders, and mesh networking solutions.
  • Perform functional, performance, and stress testing to evaluate Wi-Fi range, throughput, latency, and reliability.
  • Test and validate roaming performance using 802.11k, 802.11v, and 802.11r for seamless device handoff.
  • Analyze extender performance for coverage optimization, backhaul efficiency, and latency.
  • Utilize industry-standard tools (e.g., Wireshark, iperf, Omnipeek) to capture and analyze network performance and behavior.
  • Automate test cases using Python, shell scripting, or similar tools to streamline regression and performance testing.
  • Stay up to date with the latest Wi-Fi technologies (Wi-Fi 6, 6E, 7) and integrate best practices into testing strategies.
  • Collaborate with development and product teams to identify and troubleshoot network issues, validate fixes, and enhance product quality.

Requirements:

  • Strong understanding of 802.11 Wi-Fi standards, RF fundamentals, and wireless security protocols.
  • Hands-on experience with Wi-Fi routers, extenders, and mesh networking solutions.
  • Familiarity with band steering, cloud-managed Wi-Fi solutions, and AP/extender configurations.
  • Knowledge of roaming protocols including 802.11k, 802.11v, and 802.11r.
  • Proficiency in packet analysis, network debugging, and troubleshooting tools with strong attention to detail.
  • Experience with automation frameworks and scripting using Python, shell scripting, or similar technologies.
  • Familiarity with Wi-Fi test tools such as Veriwave, IXIA Chariot, Alethea, Spirent, etc.
  • Basic understanding of networking protocols such as TCP/IP, DHCP, RADIUS, etc.
  • Experience in developing, executing, and maintaining test strategies for wireless networking products
