As a WebFOCUS Developer, you will work closely with business analysts, data engineers, and project managers to translate business requirements into dynamic reports and dashboards. You will play a critical role in enhancing our reporting infrastructure and ensuring high performance, reliability, and scalability of BI solutions across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain interactive reports, dashboards, and visualizations using WebFOCUS.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and analyze reporting requirements and deliver user-centric BI solutions.
- Optimize WebFOCUS code and reporting structures to ensure high performance and fast response times.
- Work with relational databases to extract, transform, and load (ETL) data into formats suitable for reporting.
- Integrate WebFOCUS solutions with data platforms such as Snowflake, GCP BigQuery, and 1010data when needed.
- Perform data validation, troubleshooting, and performance tuning of WebFOCUS applications.
- Document all design, development, and testing activities clearly and consistently.
- Support user training and troubleshooting post-deployment.
- Follow best practices in BI development, including version control, security, and code reusability.
Must-Have Skills:
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with WebFOCUS development (InfoAssist, App Studio, WebFOCUS Designer).
- Strong knowledge of SQL, Joins, and data modeling concepts.
- Proven experience building complex reports and dashboards with drill-down and dynamic filtering.
- Understanding of WebFOCUS architecture, including data adapters, reporting servers, and security.
- Experience working with relational databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, or PostgreSQL.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Hands-on experience with 1010data (especially with 1010 scripting or working in EDW environments).
- Familiarity with Snowflake: data ingestion, views, performance tuning, and access control.
- Exposure to Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services, particularly BigQuery, Cloud Storage, or Dataflow.
- Knowledge of modern BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Looker.
- Experience with Agile development methodologies and Jira/Confluence.
Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD pipelines for BI deployments
