Detailed Roles & Responsibilities
Engg must have basic Voice & networking knowledge Eg: Router, Switches, WLC, Fiber cable, Copper and Ethernet cable, multiple SFP types, power and Data Stack cables, Media converters, switch power modules (Cable + Adaptor), Access point power injectors, Bridging Converter
Assist customer team if there is any support needed for Hands & feet Perspective
Racking/ de-racking equipment or decommissioning of any hardware.
Checking power status at site/device looking at the LEDs to identify any alarms.
Ethernet/Fiber Cable swapping or checking the cable connectivity needs to analyze fiber faults with machine.
Unpack, unbox, and inspect the equipment for physical damages before installation and make necessary arrangements for return of damage equipment.
Perform all adds/change/remove and installations following an approved service request or RFC /Task, including network device refreshes.
Visiting Site and following the security and Safety guideline.
Technician must speak English as well as local language (Dutch)
Labeling the devices.
Coordination with onsite facilities team for Power and physical cable checks (Electrician, cabling technician, Onsite security).
Create Standard Operating Procedure for all the Process’s for carrying out the work in order to support employees (Hands & feet Support Role)
Create High level Design Document of Site Network
Management of mobile phone subscriptions (H&F Support): SIM & New Mobile Allocation to employees – managing excel with new phones, SIM – replacement with configuration & hand deliver to end user
Management of Paging systems (H&F Support): Managing inventory & replacing faulty parts as per contract with end company, Handing over new Pager to employee
Management of walkie-talkie systems (H&F Support): Managing inventory & replacing faulty as per contract with end company, Handing over new walkie-talkie to employee
Coordination with 3Rd Party vendors (Pager, Walkie Talkie, Mobile Phone, SIMS etc.) to provide E2E support
Patching & cabling activities
Keep the registration system updated & running for patching and cabling (All Patch & Cables are listed in this registration system)
Installation of new Desk phones on Employee’s desk & provide break fix, configuration support to these phones as & when requested.
Key Points
1. He will undergo VCA certificate & produce the same before Joining TechM, if not certified
2. Support OOO hours including weekend, during P1 incidents – reporting to site time is within 30 Mins from P1 raised
3. Should have own car, to carry instruments like router, switches ( Faulty Replacements)
4. Weekly / Monthly Dashboards to customer on incidents & progress made during Transformation of Telephony
5. Setup cordial relationship with customer / DSM – As in this role, rather than technical complexity presence at site is priority.
6. Support actively & step up during Transformation phase ( New Telephony implementation) coordination between all parties involved
7. Keep the documentations ( SOP’s) & systems upto date, with latest knowledge & create new SOP’s as required post Transformation Phase.
