Minimum Requirements:
• 11 years of hands-on experience designing user interfaces and experiences for enterprise systems using tools like Figma, Adobe XD, and Sketch.
• 11 years of experience collaborating with technical and non-technical teams to translate business needs into intuitive, accessible design solutions.
• 10 years of experience applying UX principles (e.g., hierarchy, contrast, alignment) to create responsive and accessible web/mobile interfaces.
• 10 years of experience creating wireframes and prototypes that support agile development cycles, including transitions from sketches to high-fidelity visuals.
Preferred Experience:
• 5 years of experience designing graphical diagrams and visual narratives to communicate timelines, workflows, and system architecture.
• 3 years of experience facilitating design workshops and stakeholder feedback sessions.
• 3 years of experience managing multiple design streams across concurrent work efforts.
• 3 years of education or equivalent experience, preferably a Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, or a related field.
Summary:
• We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior UI/UX Designer to support the design and optimization of the HHSC eligibility systems.
• This role is critical in improving the accessibility, usability, and responsiveness of complex, data-intensive applications.
• The ideal candidate will have a strong background in user-centered design, enterprise systems, and cross-functional collaboration, with a passion for creating inclusive and intuitive digital experiences.
Responsibilities:
• Understand business objectives and operational challenges; identify alternative solutions and conduct cost/benefit analyses.
• Analyze user requirements, procedures, and problems to automate processes or enhance existing systems.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather input/output requirements and document user needs, program functions, and development steps.
• Review system capabilities and constraints to determine feasibility of requested changes.
• Lead user research and journey mapping to uncover insights and inform design decisions.
• Design wireframes, prototypes, and visual hierarchies that align with accessibility standards and branding guidelines.
• Conduct usability testing and apply responsive design and SEO optimization strategies.
• Collaborate with Code for America and internal teams to implement UI/UX best practices.
• Design interfaces for AI/ML-powered systems, focusing on explainable AI and human-AI interaction.
• Translate complex business logic and regulatory requirements into user-friendly designs.
• Create data visualizations to present complex data and AI insights clearly.
• Facilitate discovery workshops, feedback sessions, and sprint planning.
• Advocate for user-centered design and accessibility compliance (WCAG)
