Additional Job Details:             

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, or a related field.

• Master's degree preferred.

• Minimum 3 - 5 years of experience in utility network modeling, planning, simulation and CIM standards.

• Proficiency in power system analysis software (e.g., Siemens ODMS, PSS/E, CYME, ETAP, PowerFactory).

• Strong understanding of CIM concepts, data structures, and XML-based modeling.

• Proficiency in CIM modeling tools and languages (e.g., CIMtools, IEC61970).

• Strong understanding of electrical power systems, including transmission, distribution, and substation equipment

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

• Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to utility networks. Would be advantageous, not mandatory:

• Experience with GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS).

• Proficiency in programming languages (e.g., Python, MATLAB).

• Knowledge of distributed energy resources (DER) and their integration into the grid.

• Knowledge of data analytics and visualization tools.

Key Responsibilities of the role:

• Develop and maintain comprehensive models of the utility network, including electrical distribution and transmission systems.

• Conduct network planning studies to evaluate the feasibility of new projects, expansions, and upgrades.

• Utilize simulation tools to analyze network performance under various scenarios, including load growth, renewable energy integration, and fault conditions.

• Forecast future network requirements based on load projections, technological advancements, and regulatory changes.

• Develop optimization models to identify the most efficient and cost-effective network configurations.

• Collaborate with other departments to ensure that network planning aligns with the overall business strategy and regulatory requirements.

• Stay updated on the latest advancements in utility network modeling and simulation technologies.

• Develop and maintain CIM-compliant models of the utility network, including transmission, distribution, and substation components.

• Ensure data quality and accuracy in the CIM models, adhering to industry standards and best practices.

• Collaborate with other teams to integrate CIM models with various utility systems and applications.

• Perform data validation and consistency checks to identify and resolve model errors.

• Support the use of CIM models in network planning, simulation, and operational analysis.

• Stay updated on the latest CIM standards and emerging technologies in the utility industry.
