Description

  • Responsible for daily operations of the Enterprise Data Center (EDC) and Secondary Data Center (SDC) virtual infrastructure environment that includes VMware & Hyper-V products
  • Must demonstrate technology competency and ownership ensuring reliability, availability, serviceability, scalability, and high performing solutions in the enterprise virtual environment
  • Must be able to enhance work processes and document operational procedures for the entire support team
  • Assists in capacity planning for the virtual environments on a regular basis to ensure the planned and anticipated growth of the EDC and SDC can be accommodated
  • Manage and administer physical and virtual servers, primarily RHEL, Ubuntu and Windows 2012/2016/2019 servers. (Includes provisioning, patch management, etc)
  • Data Backup and Recovery: Ensure data integrity and availability
  • Creating and testing disaster recovery plans to minimize downtime in case of a failure
  • Scripting and automation: Bash, Python and Perl. Also, experience in automation tools
  • Assists in the development and implementation of procedures regarding the EDC and SDC virtual infrastructure consistent with customer requirements and Client standards
  • Partner with the server, networking, database, and storage teams to ensure compatibility between all components in the environment
  • Has previously installed and configured VMWare virtual machines in a production environment
  • Has previously installed, configured, operated, and maintained hardware and software that uses the Linux/Windows operating system within a VMware ESXi production environment
  • Provide emergency support and participate in an on-call rotation as needed
  • Requires after hours support for ESX upgrades and other virtual projects as assigned. Must be willing to flex work shift to meet operational needs
