Trading Applications Support Engineer

Job Description: 
·        Good business knowledge of Equities would include the ability to demonstrate an understanding of different instruments and how and where they trade. 
·        This would also include the ability to describe an order book and the different order types that can be used
·        Understanding of SQL and Sybase databases.
·        Understanding of operating systems (UNIX, PC)
·        Understanding of real time distributed application architectures and experience with message based protocols e.g. FIX.
·        Incident management skills - Ability to own issues from start to finish, with a commitment to determining root cause and follow ups.
·        Proficiency in a scripting language such as Perl/Python and Shell
