Experience Required:
- 4-8 years of relevant experience in Data Historian and 10+ years total experience.
Position Summary:
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Technical Lead (Data Historian) to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of data historian systems, specifically IP21 (Aspentech), and OPC servers (preferably Matrikon, but others such as Kepware or IGS are also acceptable). You will play a key role in managing and supporting historian systems, integrating with control systems, and ensuring smooth operation across various power generation processes, including Thermal, Wind, Hydro, and Gas plants.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the implementation, configuration, and maintenance of IP21 Data Historian (Aspentech) and OPC servers (primarily Matrikon).
- Oversee integration with various control systems (PLC, SCADA, DCS) to ensure data accuracy and reliability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and deliver solutions for monitoring, data analytics, and reporting using tools such as PowerBI, PowerApps, SQL, C#, and Java.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to data historian and control systems, ensuring minimal downtime.
- Monitor, maintain, and optimize historian data performance and storage.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in data historian technologies and power generation industry standards.
- Provide technical leadership to junior team members and help develop their skills.
- Contribute to process improvement and operational excellence, ensuring the adoption of best practices and industry standards.
- Ensure compliance with ITIL support practices for change management, incident management, and problem management.
Desired Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong experience with Data Historian IP21 (Aspentech) and OPC Server, particularly Matrikon (other OPC platforms like Kepware or IGS are acceptable).
- Solid understanding of Control Systems (PLC, SCADA, DCS) and how they interface with historian systems.
- Knowledge of the power generation industry, including Thermal, Wind, Hydro, and Gas power plants.
- Familiarity with PowerApps, PowerBI, SQL scripting, C#, and Java for data analysis and reporting.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and interact with stakeholders.
- Experience working in ITIL support processes and practices.
- A strong problem-solver with a methodical approach to identifying root causes and implementing solutions.
- Knowledge of industrial practices, standards, and best practices in the field of data historian management.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience in the energy resources and trading sectors is a plus.
Exposure to cloud technologies and advanced data analytics tools would be beneficial
