Description

We are seeking a highly motivated Technical Business Analyst with a strong background in software development, data analysis, and Agile methodologies. This individual will work closely with Risk and Compliance teams to design, implement, and support surveillance models, ensuring alignment with regulatory and business needs. The ideal candidate has excellent interpersonal skills, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is comfortable collaborating across cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Elicit, analyze, and document business requirements including Agile user stories and supporting documentation
  • Develop proof-of-concept models and conduct gap analysis across data sets
  • Work closely with development teams to ensure implementation aligns with business specifications
  • Conduct Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) and manage User Acceptance Testing (UAT) processes
  • Create and maintain overall project plans and escalate risks and delays as needed
  • Collaborate across IT and business units globally to support model development and delivery

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Technical Business Analyst in global organizations
  • Proficient in SQL, relational databases, and data presentation tools
  • Strong data analysis skills with the ability to interpret business requirements into technical deliverables
  • Solid understanding of Agile methodologies and software development life cycle (SDLC)
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
  • Experience in financial services, specifically in trade lifecycles and asset classes (Equity, Fixed Income, Options, Futures)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with compliance surveillance platforms (e.g., Actimize) and familiarity with surveillance models such as wash trading, spoofing, insider trading, and marking the open/close
  • Knowledge of the Nasdaq SMARTS platform
  • Familiarity with various data types such as trade, position, and reference data
  • Experience managing medium to large-scale development projects
  • Exposure to both Agile/Scrum and Waterfall project methodologies
  • Prior experience in BDD (Behavior-Driven Development) practices

Certifications (if any)

  • Certifications in Agile, Scrum, or Business Analysis (e.g., CBAP, PMI-PBA) are a plus
