We are looking for a Technical Business Analyst with investment and trading industry experience to support the development of proprietary applications. The successful candidate will assist engineering teams by defining the business problem/opportunity and communicating goals and evaluating results as requested. You will facilitate projects by serving as the liaison between developers and business partners including operations, traders, compliance, portfolio management & technology operations teams. You must have exceptional people skills as well as creative solutions.

Responsibilities:

·       Work as a liaison between development teams and business partners in order to elicit, analyze, document, communicate and validate requirements

·       Abstract, synthesize and communicate complex requirements and adapt communication approach/style depending on the audience

·       Ensure application designs align with organizational and technical goals

·       Transform user requirements into epics, themes and user stories with upfront detailed technical analysis and direction for development team

·       Create mock-ups and/or conduct demos for business partners

·       Ensure solution delivered by development team meets user’s acceptance criteria

·       Assist quality assurance with the development of detailed test plans and test cases

·       Acquire/build and maintain knowledge base for trading and investment applications

·       Ensure production support teams are fully trained on new features, workflows, and processes

Preferred Skills and Experience:

·       5+ years of Business Analyst of relevant investment industry experience including requirements gathering, analyzing and communicating business requirements to achieve strategic goals

·       5+ years of authoring epics, themes and user stories, or equivalent requirements from other methodologies, while adhering to best practices

·       Experience in facilitating requirements sessions and implementing mediation/conflict resolution techniques to drive stakeholders to common understanding/agreement

·       Experience identifying and escalating potential requirement gaps to senior project and business partners

·       Working knowledge of several Agile methodologies such as SCRUM, Kanban, ScrumLess and SAFe

·       Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a technical major

·       Understanding of programming languages and object-oriented concepts

·       Understanding of relational databases, with emphasis on SQL server, data loading mechanisms and reporting

·       Understanding of financial market data

·       Detail oriented with exceptional verbal and written communication skills

·       Willingness to take initiative, seeing problems through to final completion

·       Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, set goals and meet deadlines in a high-pressure environment
