Systems Engineering Lead

Job Description:

Accenture is seeking an experienced Systems Engineering Lead with deep expertise in COBOL, Unix scripting, and DB2 LUW to support a mission-critical application for a leading industrial client focused on aftermarket/service parts. This is a hands-on, client-facing role requiring strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to maintain legacy systems in a high-stakes environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Diagnose and resolve complex issues in COBOL-based applications (mainframe).

Provide L1/L2 support to technical teams and business users.

Perform software maintenance: patches, upgrades, and configurations.

Monitor system performance and proactively resolve alerts.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams (development, infrastructure, and business).

Create and maintain technical documentation and knowledge bases.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• 6+ years of hands-on experience with:
• COBOL (Mainframe)
• Unix scripting (Bash, KSH, etc.)
• DB2 LUW (Linux/Unix/Windows)
• Proven background in application maintenance, support, and debugging.
• Experience in industrial/aftermarket service parts domain (strongly preferred).
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent written communication for technical documentation.
• Local to Milwaukee, WI (or willing to relocate immediately).
