Systems Administrator

Client is seeking a highly motivated and skilled System Administrator to oversee the installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of IT infrastructure. This role ensures optimal performance and security while requiring strong technical expertise, proactive problem-solving skills, and a passion for technology.

Key Responsibilities: 

• Install, configure, and maintain operating systems (Windows Server, Linux), applications, and hardware.

• Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure high availability and reliability.

• Implement and maintain security measures, including patches, updates, and access controls.

• Manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights.

• Perform regular system backups and disaster recovery procedures.

• Document system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.

• Provide technical support to end-users for hardware and software issues.

• Manage and maintain network infrastructure, including switches, routers, and firewalls.

• Collaborate with IT team members to implement and improve IT processes and infrastructure.

• Manage and maintain virtual environments (VMware, Hyper-V).

• Implement and manage cloud-based solutions (AWS, Azure, GCP) as required.

• Participate in an on-call rotation for after-hours support.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

• 3-5 years of experience as a System Administrator.

• Strong knowledge of Windows Server and Linux operating systems.

• Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V).

• Understanding of networking concepts and protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).

• Proficiency in Active Directory, Group Policy, and user management.

• Knowledge of security best practices and tools.

• Experience with scripting languages (PowerShell, Bash, Python) is a plus.

• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus.

• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

• Ability to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance.

• Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Server+, Linux+, Microsoft Certified: Windows Server, CCNA) are highly desirable
