About the Role
We’re looking for an experienced Infrastructure Systems Engineer to manage and optimize our on-premise and cloud-based IT infrastructure. You’ll play a key role in maintaining system reliability, supporting AI platforms, and ensuring compliance with security standards like NIST 800-171.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain physical and virtual server infrastructure, including AI systems and related hardware/software.
- Monitor system performance and ensure high availability across IT environments.
- Perform system upgrades, patching, and routine maintenance to ensure security and stability.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues across on-premise and cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure).
- Implement and manage backup and disaster recovery solutions.
- Administer core network services including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Azure Entra with RBAC.
- Manage virtualization platforms such as VMware, Hyper-V, and hyperconverged environments (e.g., Nutanix).
- Collaborate with IT teams to define and enforce IT policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Provide technical support to end-users and mentorship to junior IT staff.
- Maintain accurate documentation of system configurations, procedures, and network diagrams.
- Ensure infrastructure compliance with NIST 800-171 standards.
- Participate in on-call rotation and provide after-hours support as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 6+ years of relevant experience in IT infrastructure and systems administration.
- 3–5 years of experience with virtualization and hyperconverged environments (e.g., VMware, Nutanix).
- 1–3 years of experience with cloud operations in AWS or Azure.
- Strong experience with IT monitoring tools (e.g., Azure Monitor, vROps, SolarWinds).
- Proficient in troubleshooting server-to-server network connectivity and managing LAN/WAN/VLAN environments.
- Familiarity with Microsoft, Red Hat, and cloud operating systems.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience supporting AI infrastructure or high-performance computing environments.
- Strong understanding of security frameworks and compliance standards.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
