Job Purpose:
Develop applications and provide 24/7 administration and support, including tracking, troubleshooting, provisioning software updates, repairs and maintenance support to Progress Rail’s IT systems users.

 

Key Job Elements:
• Provide technical support to assigned technical systems, including installation, tracking, maintenance, troubleshooting and updating;

  • Provides customer ticket support to assigned systems (e.g., security systems; server, maintenance, upgrades and patches; remote configuration, Uptime Connect; Enterprise Application Administration, etc.);
    • Engages and interacts with system users to identify requirements and develop documents for the reporting needs of the business; engages with system users to troubleshoot and resolve issues;
  • • Diagnoses, documents and resolves system issues;
  • • Documents processes, development plans and requirements;
  • • Provides application support, including bug fixes, errors, failures and miscellaneous fixes.

 

Advanced duties and responsibilities:

  • Escalates top priority, production-critical issues to appropriate support staff;
  • Makes recommendations of perceived solutions to potential problem areas and methods for improvement;
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned. Education / Training
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related IT field or an Associates IT degree and related certifications, plus more than 5 years professional experience would also qualify. Qualifications and Experience
  • 3+ years of IT experience in a web application environment;
  • 2+ years of experience and proficiency in app development and additional IT experience;
  • Experience developing and providing solutions to automate business process workflows in K2/Power apps using designers (K2 designer, Power apps)/development tools (CSS, AJAX, ASP.net, C+, Visual Studio, JQuery, Java, XML, HTML);
  • Development experience in K2 applications (Version 5.0 and above) or Microsoft Power apps; • Development experience in MS SQL Server (SQL queries and stored procedures).

 

Preferred Skills:

  • Web app development;
  • Demonstrated experience developing application customizations, interfaces and reports;
  • Detail oriented / sense of urgency / follow-through;
  • Ability to multi-task, work independently and efficiently;
  • Proven interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Ability to follow-up with internal/external customers on inquiries, requests and complaints;
  • Willingness to participate in international meetings during non-typical business hours;
  • Ability to perform with frequent interruptions and/or distractions;
  • Strong proficiency in web related programming languages (PHP/JS/HTML) as well as underlying systems and databases (Windows/Linux/Apache/Oracle/MySQL systems);
  • High degree of analytical skills and strong business systems background;
  • Advanced Windows and Linux Operating Systems experience;
  • International Tax knowledge and experience; preferred;
  • GAAP understanding; MRP experience preferred;
  • ERP experience preferred;
  • Ability to adapt to frequent changes in workload and adjust priorities quickly as circumstances dictate;
  • Ability to speak multiple languages is a plus;
  • Willingness to travel as required
