System Engineer

Job Responsibilities

• Deploy, operate, and maintain mission critical systems within the datacenter. 
• Direct hands-on role in all systems that are monitored and responsible for understanding and escalating business issues. 
• Coordinate and perform updates to core monitoring applications. 
• Coordinate with teams within the organization and the drive to ensure issues are escalated appropriately. 
• Maintain the server inventory & document the server build / decommission, application installation/configuration, backup verifications, Operating System user accounts auditing 
• Manage documentation and Standard operation procedures for Data center products and services. 
• Day to day management of VxRack systems across multiple nodes which includes VxRack upgrades, network troubleshooting etc. 
• L2 & L3 support for all Server related issues and Operation and maintenance of Windows, VMware ESXi, Backup, Network. 
• Collaborate on the definition and layout of application workloads for the new environment. 
• Performing, Monitoring, Security, Troubleshooting, and Backup, Disaster recovery, Maintenance and Support of unix systems. 
• Troubleshoot, repair and advise customers on the VMware vSphere environment installed on the appliance. 
• Providing knowledge transfer of Dell EMC Best Practices to address the customer’s skills and resource gaps to ensure that the customer obtains an operational understanding of the infrastructure to successfully run their day-to-day operations.
• Performing migrations for on-premise data center infrastructure to AWS, optimizing resource allocation, reducing costs, and enhancing scalability for improved business agility.
