The Superintendent will oversee all field operations on a hyperscale, mission critical project with a strong focus on concrete-intensive scopes including foundations, structural elements, and heavy civil vertical construction. This role requires extensive hands-on experience in managing large-scale concrete operations and leading multidisciplinary crews to deliver high-quality, mission-critical structures on aggressive schedules.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct and supervise all concrete construction activities including excavation, subgrade prep, deep foundations, rebar installation, formwork, post-tensioning, and placement.
- Manage mass pours, tilt-up panels, elevated decks, and complex structural elements while ensuring strict adherence to mix designs, curing methods, and tolerances.
- Coordinate sequencing of rebar, embeds, sleeves, and MEP rough-in to align with structural pour cycles.
- Monitor concrete batch plant operations, delivery logistics, placement methods, vibration/compaction, and finishing techniques.
- Enforce QA/QC requirements including slump testing, cylinder breaks, temperature monitoring, and finishing inspections.
- Resolve field issues such as cold joints, cracking, formwork failures, or curing irregularities.
- Lead pre-pour meetings with subcontractors, testing agencies, and project management teams to confirm readiness.
- Manage heavy civil scopes tied to concrete operations, including excavation support systems, shoring, dewatering, and site utilities adjacent to foundation systems.
- Maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and testing labs to ensure concrete work is executed safely, efficiently, and to spec.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of field leadership in concrete-heavy vertical construction (data centers, stadiums, high-rise, or mission critical facilities preferred).
- Demonstrated expertise in structural concrete systems including deep foundations, mat slabs, post-tensioned decks, tilt-up, and elevated structural frames.
- Strong knowledge of ACI standards, mix design optimization, curing practices, tolerances, and testing requirements.
- Experience managing mass pours (>2,000 CY), complex sequencing, and concrete placement in extreme climates.
- Proven track record of coordinating rebar installation, formwork design/inspection, and post-tension stressing operations.
- Ability to manage crews of 50–200+ tradespeople and multiple subcontractors simultaneously
