Description

Responsibilities:

  • Join as one of the technical leaders of our high-growth Cloud Engineering Team. Solve technical problems of the highest scope and complexity.
  • Partner with the product management leadership team to define and execute the product strategy.
  • Drive innovation on the team with a willingness to experiment and to boldly confront problems of immense complexity and scope.
  • Improve performance, reliability, scalability, and security of the cloud system. Advocate for improvements to product quality, security, and performance.
  • Actively seek out difficult impediments to our efficiency as a team ( "technical debt "), propose and implement solutions that will enable the entire team to iterate faster.
  • Confidently ship large features and improvements with minimal guidance and support from other team members. Collaborate with the team on larger projects.
  • Shepherd the definition and improvement of our internal standards for style, maintainability, and best practices for a high-scale web environment. Maintain and advocate for these standards through code review.

 
Required Skills:

  • 6+ years of industry experience working with backend and low-latency big data tech stacks.
  • Strong Python experience.
  • Experience with service-oriented architecture, event-driven systems, REST API, and unit testing.
  • Experience with SQL and NoSQL data systems (e.g. Postgres, MongoDB, Redis, Cassandra, Kafka).
  • Experience with the full SDLC on a major public cloud service provider (AWS and GCP preferred).
  • Able to analyze and improve efficiency, scalability, and stability of system resources.
  • Experience owning a project from concept to production, including proposal, discussion, and execution.
  • Able to clearly and concisely communicate about complex technical, architectural, and/or organizational problems and propose thorough iterative solutions.
  • An inclination towards communication, inclusion, and visibility. Demonstrated ability to work closely with other parts of the organization.
  • Adaptability, resilience, and being able to thrive in ambiguity
