Improve performance, reliability, scalability, and security of the cloud system. Advocate for improvements to product quality, security, and performance.
Actively seek out difficult impediments to our efficiency as a team ( "technical debt "), propose and implement solutions that will enable the entire team to iterate faster.
Confidently ship large features and improvements with minimal guidance and support from other team members. Collaborate with the team on larger projects.
Shepherd the definition and improvement of our internal standards for style, maintainability, and best practices for a high-scale web environment. Maintain and advocate for these standards through code review.
Required Skills:
6+ years of industry experience working with backend and low-latency big data tech stacks.
Strong Python experience.
Experience with service-oriented architecture, event-driven systems, REST API, and unit testing.
Experience with SQL and NoSQL data systems (e.g. Postgres, MongoDB, Redis, Cassandra, Kafka).
Experience with the full SDLC on a major public cloud service provider (AWS and GCP preferred).
Able to analyze and improve efficiency, scalability, and stability of system resources.
Experience owning a project from concept to production, including proposal, discussion, and execution.
Able to clearly and concisely communicate about complex technical, architectural, and/or organizational problems and propose thorough iterative solutions.
An inclination towards communication, inclusion, and visibility. Demonstrated ability to work closely with other parts of the organization.
Adaptability, resilience, and being able to thrive in ambiguity
