As part of Project Web Application (PWA) environment, a Sr. SQL Developer & .NET Developer with Power BI using DAX experience plays a crucial role in optimizing PWA functionality. They are responsible for database management, including SQL Serv er development (T-SQL), stored procedures, performance tuning, and Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) processes to ensure data integrity and efficiency. They also develop and integrate custom .NET applications using C# and ASP.NET, enabling advanced automation and workflow enhancements within PWA. Resources will also be required to developed code in Microsoft Project Online to implement features such as Stoplights. Additionally, expertise in Power BI development is essential for creating dynamic dashboards, reports, and embedded analytics that improve project visibility and resource planning. This role involves configuring custom fields, security permissions and reporting periods while ensuring seamless integration with SharePoint, Power BI, and other Microsoft tools. By combining SQL, .NET development, and Power BI expertise, this role enhances PWA functionality, providing project stakeholders with actionable insights and a scalable, data-driven decision-making platform.
DUTIES
1. Design and implement data models, data integration, and data transformation processes to ensure accurate, reliable data analysis for business users.
2. Lead Power BI and Microsoft Project development and enhancements to meet evolving business requirements, investigating and resolving complex production issues within the BI ecosystem.
3. Collaborate with project teams and external IT business partners to design new technical solutions, ensuring smooth resolution of any issues that arise.
4. Serve as the Power BI expert, guiding the development of dashboards and reports, and providing directions to ensure alignment with project goals.
5. Work closely with Microsoft Project resources to gather requirements, design, develop, and test solutions, while preparing comprehensive documentation, including Business Requirements Documents (BRD), Technical Design Specifications (TDS), and Source - to-Target Mapping (STM).
6. Facilitate User Acceptance Testing (UAT), Integration Testing, and Regression Testing, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of all BI development efforts.
7. Integrate data from multiple sources into Power BI reports, including pulling Project Online data, optimizing SQL Server performance, and leveraging SSRS if needed.
8. Optimize existing reports, including program metrics, statistical, and demographic reports, while identifying opportunities for performance improvements.
9. Collaborate with (PC) clients to support Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) reporting, production support, enhancements, and troubleshooting activities.
10. Work with the existing QuickBase application to develop and generate custom reports in Microsoft Project using BI tools or SSRS.
11. Devise and execute a strategic vision for Power BI, aligning it with organizational goals and fostering a culture of data-driven decision-making.
12. Lead the end-to-end implementation of Power BI solutions, from data acquisition and transformation to the creation of dynamic and impactful dashboards.
13. Conduct regular code reviews, ensuring adherence to best practices in Power BI development.
14. Implement and enforce data governance policies specific to Power BI solutions.
