· 5-8 Years of hands-on Network Engineering experience.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
· Plan medium sized technical projects from inception to completion by using standard project planning tools to deliver successful solutions.
· Responsible for network planning, network architecture design and engineering by reviewing work of junior staff to ensure network projects are delivered successfully.
· Install and configure networks from inception to completion by following standard project plans to deliver successful solutions.
· Install and configure medium size networks, including implementation and verification of connections to remote sites in a WAN by using established procedures and tools to deliver quality products to customers.
· Install, configure, and interpret results of network analyzers to proactively manage performance and identify, resolve, and prevent problems.
· applications/systems, and patterned vs. non-repeatable issues to deliver solution to the problem.
· Interface successfully and positively with a broad customer base with varying degrees of technical competency by using verbal, written, and other communication tools.
· Work with consultants and vendors on the implementation of advanced networking technologies, by participating in meetings, forums, or seminars to provide guidance in the use of newer technologies.
· Collaborate with other School police departments IT departments for best practices
· Mentor staff positions such as Network Engineer I, Analysts, or Network Technicians by providing guidance and training.
Minimum Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Required qualifications:
· Detailed knowledge of Cisco networking systems.
· Detailed knowledge of Palo Alto Firewall
· Preferred- Arista Networks certification.
· Preferred- CCNP or CCDP certification.
· Preferred- Experience with police departments or law enforcement agency networks.
