Sr Java Lead Developer

Key Responsibilities:
·  Lead end-to-end design, architecture, and development of Java-based microservices for streaming or digital experience platforms.
·  Collaborate closely with Disney’s engineering, product, and design teams to align on feature development, delivery schedules, and performance metrics.
·  Optimize applications for speed, scalability, and reliability across a high-traffic user base.
·  Implement and guide teams on best practices in CI/CD, observability, security, and testing.
·  Mentor a team of engineers, provide code reviews, and drive continuous improvement.
 
Must-Have Technical Skills:
·  Strong experience with Java (11/17+), Spring Boot, and RESTful API design
·  Deep understanding of microservices, event-driven architecture, and domain-driven design (DDD)
·  Experience working with AWS (Lambda, ECS, S3, CloudFront) or equivalent cloud platforms
·  Experience with GraphQL or gRPC
·  Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and service mesh tools (e.g., Istio or Linkerd)
·  Proficient in NoSQL (e.g., DynamoDB, Cassandra) and SQL databases
·  Strong knowledge of authentication and authorization standards (OAuth2, JWT, SAML)
·  Familiarity with content delivery networks (CDNs) and video streaming systems is a strong plus
