Description

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the design, implementation and maintenance of complex databases with respect to access methods, access time, device allocation, validation checks, organization, protection and security.
  • Database Analysts will assist in the security of databases.
  • Respond, address and resolve issue tickets in a timely and professional manner.
  • Write and maintain technical documentation.
  • Collaborate with internal and external Clients as well as Developers and Business Analysts to define and understand technical requirements.
  • Follow industry and company standards, security guidelines, and best practices for ETL and database development.
  • Create detailed documentation, flowcharts, and diagrams to illustrate how the data will be sorted and stored.
  • Maintain and update existing databases to better serve the needs of the organization. .

Required Skills

  • Fluent with programming languages such as Python or PHP.
  • Senior knowledge of AWS Glue, Data Lake, SQS is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of sFTP (bonus if they have used Cleo).
  • Proficient in ETL design and development in at least one tool, such as SSIS, Informatica, Data Loader.
  • Expert SQL skills.
  • Proven time management and organizational skills.

Required Experience

  • 5+ years experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.
  • Data base design and modeling experience.
  • 5+ years experience with database development.
  • 2+ years experience writing C/C++ code (coding for Operating Systems and/or database).
  • UNIX experience.
  • Experience with database operations.
  • Experience with scripting such as basic shell scripting, Python, Javascript.
  • Strong experience with databases mainly Mysql and MariaDB.

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a closely related field.
