Description

Responsibilities

  • Installation, configuration and maintenance of multiple database environments including highly transactional operational systems, an operational data store, and an enterprise data warehouse.
  • Proactive database performance monitoring and tuning ensuring that the databases are performing optimally.
  • Ensure proper documentation for all processes related to the EDW and reporting.
  • Write and maintain technical documentation.
  • Follow industry and company standards, security guidelines, and best practices for ETL and database development.
  • Build database views against underlying tables.
  • Provide accurate estimates in support of project planning efforts.

Required Skills

  • SQL Database admin background strongly preferred.
  • AWS Glue, Data Lake, SQS is a plus.
  • Solid knowledge of AWS (EC2, S3, SQS, Security groups).
  • Proficient in ETL design and development in at least one tool, such as SSIS, Informatica, Data Loader.
  • Advanced T-SQL query writing and tuning skills a mustr.
  • Working knowledge of SQL Server Integration Services, Analysis Services and Reporting Services.

Required Experience

  • 4-6 years of Database view experience.
  • 5+ years experience with database development.
  • 2+ years experience writing C/C++ code (coding for Operating Systems and/or database).
  • Data base design and modeling experience.
  • Experience with database operations.
  • Experience with scripting such as basic shell scripting, Python, Javascript.
  • Strong experience with databases mainly Mysql and MariaDB.

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a closely related field.
