- Collaborate with Finance and Accounting teams to deliver automated data solutions.
- Manage end-to-end project delivery for data engineering initiatives.
- Design, build, and optimize scalable ETL pipelines and data models.
- Develop analytics and reporting solutions to support business goals.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards (e.g., SOX).
- Drive technical excellence and best practices within the team.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead projects from design through production, engaging stakeholders throughout.
- Design and implement automated data solutions for business units such as Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Accounting, and Finance.
- Build, manage, and optimize ETL pipelines from multiple data sources to data warehouse.
- Refine and develop data models (e.g., star schema) for efficient reporting and analytics.
- Write and optimize scripts, processes, and jobs for analytics and reporting.
- Diagnose and resolve performance bottlenecks in data processes.
- Stay current with data engineering trends, tools, and technologies.
- Reverse engineer existing solutions to identify and implement improvements.
- Collaborate with compliance teams to ensure SOX compliance for finance-related projects.
- Set and uphold high technical standards for the team.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer.
- Strong SQL skills; experience with relational databases (SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle, Vertica).
- Hands-on experience with data warehousing and dimensional modeling.
- Expertise in ETL tools and pipelines (e.g., SSIS, Informatica, Airflow).
- Programming proficiency in Python, Java, or similar languages.
- Familiarity with distributed systems (e.g., Kafka, Spark).
- Knowledge of OLAP databases/tools (SSAS, Hyperion, Cognos).
- Experience with reporting/data visualization tools (SSRS, Power BI, Tableau, Looker).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to work with both technical and business stakeholders.
- Background in Accounting, Finance, or Banking is a plus but not required
