Implementing computer systems in a phased approach of requirements analysis and conceptual design, site survey, system design review, critical design review, installation, integration, and testing
Collaborate with multiple stakeholders across the Department to improve the engineering and business processes through the development of workflows using the technology/tools to increase productivity and gain efficiencies
Maintaining and upgrading existing computer systems as required
Designing new computer systems and frameworks using modern technologies
Implements and integrates commercial software purchases in support of the server, storage, and technical computing infrastructure
Troubleshooting technical issues
Risk mitigation planning
Collaborating with Business Analysts, Project Leads, Architects, and IT team to resolve issues and ensuring solutions are viable and consistent
Creating system guidelines and manuals for the organization
Running training sessions and workshops on system processes
Conducting regular reviews of systems and generating reports on efficiencies and improvement areas
Structuring and prioritizing business requirements and communicating plans with stakeholders for review and approval
Production deployment support, stabilization support, rotating on-call support for critical issues
Job Duties:
Consult with managers to determine the role of the IT system in the organization
Research emerging technologies to decide if installing them can increase the organization’s efficiency and effectiveness
Prepare an analysis of costs and benefits so that management can decide if computer upgrades are financially worthwhile
Devise ways to make existing computer systems meet new needs
Design and develop new systems by choosing and configuring hardware and software
Oversee installing and configuring the new system to customize it for the organization
Do tests to ensure that the systems work as expected
Train the system’s end users and write instruction manuals, when required
