Solution Arch– Azure

Description

The Azure Arch is responsible for building and maintaining an organization’s data infrastructure, including databases, data warehouses, and data pipelines. This includes developing the full lifecycle of a Big Data solution (data movement and visualization), including the understanding of end requirements for data use, tool/platform selection, implementing and documenting the solution design, designing data services as well as the development, testing, deployment and optimization of code to production. The Data Arch will also be responsible for the reliability and security of the data analytic systems and will develop triggers, alerts, monitoring applications, access controls and privacy controls to align with corporate security and privacy policies. An ideal candidate would have a broad set of technology skills to design and build an evolving global data platform and learn quickly to adapt to the changing technology landscape of the analytic platform. This position provides opportunities for domestic and international travel.

Responsibilities

Provide spirited positive leadership in the implementation of systems projects. Challenge obsolete practices, question accepted truths, and eliminate non-value-added processes.

Develop practical systems scope that enhances the business function. Control the project scope, resources, and quality within budget and schedule to meet objectives.

Provide analysis, counsel, and direction to management and personnel of operating units to analyze problems and develop solutions, as well as assure efficient operation of existing systems. Maintain an understanding of business processes and the implications of computer systems on these processes.

Prepare and conduct project review meetings and management presentations including general design review, project scheduling, test plan, system and program tactics and methods, system controls, procedures, systems documentation, and system implementation plan. 

Prepare and publish systems project status reports. Comply with systems development methodology, standards, procedures, guidelines, priorities, and schedules.

Develop high-level system specifications. Assist in developing system documentation. Advise on user procedures. Assist in the preparation of general test plan. Coordinate system tests. 

Participate in educational programs and professional societies involving supervisory skills, computing technology and systems methodologies. Seek ways to expand business knowledge.

Conduct educational programs involving company personnel relating to computing technology and specific projects.

Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree from any IT related field

9 years IT experience including 3 years as a technical lead in a Big Data or Data Warehousing Environment.

Experience with Azure - Data Factory, Data Lake, Data Bricks, SQL Database, Azure Analysis Services, Synapse (Must Have)

Experience with engineering data pipelines and logical data models that serve business analytics and visualization tools such as PowerBI (Must Have)

Experience in Data Modelling - building physical data models, creating stored procedures in Synapse or MS SQL (Must Have)

Experience building algorithm, automation and deployment code using Python or Scala (Must Have)

Experience Optimizing Data Loads, Data Extractions, Queries and Stored Procedures (Must Have)

Experience working in a DevOps environment and using CI/CD, Version Control etc as part of development process (Must Have)

Experience with extraction of data from various source systems like SAP, Salesforce, Oracle (Good to Have)

Experience working with Streaming data sources such as IoT, Clickstream etc and building data analytic applications from event driven data sources (Good to Have)

Experience in ML Ops processes and Kubernetes based model serving (Good to Have)

Certifications on Azure Cloud (Must Have)
