Job Description:
The AppDynamics/Splunk Engineer will develop deep understanding of the AppD & Splunk solutions through past APM experience, product training, and hands-on experience, and act as both a technical advisor and enablement specialist supporting some of Carnival’s highest profile business applications. This role involves managing a highly dynamic environment and working as part of a team in support of operational and project related activities. * Responsibilities: * Build deep technical expertise on the AppD & Splunk products and the application stacks and use those skills to address business and technical issues as needed * Help business teams setup policies, alerts, dashboards and custom configuration to get full visibility into their entire environment * Train users on best practices and AppD/Splunk features to proactively monitor performance in their environment as well as use the product to identify bottlenecks as needed * Function as a front-line technical resource for best practice and informal questions * Design and develop innovative solutions to integrate AppD/Splunk in Carnival’s environment and make it a part of their day-to-day operations * Ensure and document full deployment of AppD/Splunk product in Carnival’s environment * Help document best practices in developing and deploying AppDynamics & Splunk in Carnival’s environments * Manage competing requests across simultaneous engagements * Qualifications: * Solid experience using AppDyanmics, Splunk, or Java development background. * Experience working in a DevOps environment * Excellent communication, interpersonal and collaboration skills * Ability to be flexible, adaptable and learn new concepts quickly * Solid troubleshooting skills * Self-motivated and able to meet objectives with little or no direct supervision
Minimum Qualification:
Must have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Electr Engineering, or a related field and 1 year experience (or 1 year experience as a Programmer Analyst or related occupation). Must have 1 year experience designing manual and automated test cases, performing integration and regression testing, and working with Selenium. Must be willing to travel/relocate to unanticipated locations throughout the US on short notice for extended periods of time.
