Duties & Responsibilities
- Subject matter expert (SME) of innovation in assigned subject areas
- Manage projects without direct reports
- Research, develop, and implement appropriate machine learning (ML), deep learning (DL) algorithms and other tools to optimize the performance and design of renewable energy systems
- Collaborate with and lead multi-disciplinary teams of internal and external industry subject matter experts for problem solving, betterment opportunities, and systems integration
- Communicate technical concepts to stakeholders and provide data-driven recommendations
- Maintain familiarity with industry and company progress and problems in assigned technical areas
- Engage with research community and technology developers to guide and inform product development
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned
Required Work Experience
- Required expertise in two or more of the following areas:
- Training models (ML, DL, LLM etc)
- Data science and statistics
- IT solutions and automation
- Recommended expertise:
- Engineering design and operation or project management in utility-scale solar, wind, energy storage, and/or transmission
- Vetting and integrating AI applications
- Proven analytical capabilities in one or more of the following areas:
- Creating models, performing statistical analyses, and optimizing system performance
- Designing and developing machine learning and deep learning systems
- Software development and automation
- Shows maturity of technical expertise and assumes responsibility for highly specialized technical objectives
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Educational Requirements
One of the following education and experience combinations:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field from an ABET accredited program
- 3+ years of proven experience
- Master’s in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field
- 1-3 year of proven experience
