Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer to join the Counterparty Credit Risk Technology team within the Capital Markets Risk Technology (CMRT) group. This team is responsible for calculating exposure metrics and monitoring/reporting limit overages for counterparty credit risk.

This role will support the modernization of an existing platform over a multi-year transition, focusing on reporting and workflow development. You will play a key role in establishing best practices for Dremio, developing BI reports, and guiding the team through the transition to a modern data architecture using Apache Iceberg and Parquet.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain BI reports using Dremio and other visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau).
  • Establish and document best practices for Dremio usage and configuration in Confluence.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to advise on effective reporting strategies.
  • Support the migration of workflows from SQL Server to a modern data framework using Apache Iceberg and Parquet.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team knowledge sharing.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to sprint planning and execution.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in Software Engineering or BI development.
  • 2+ years of experience in BI visualization/reporting using tools like Tableau or Power BI.
  • 2+ years of experience with SQL.
  • Experience working in Agile environments.
  • Prior experience in the banking or financial services industry.
  • Ability to work onsite 3 days per week (Wednesdays required).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience with Dremio (strongly preferred).
  • Experience with Apache Iceberg, Apache Parquet, and Spark.
  • Prior leadership experience on BI projects, including mentoring and training team members.
  • Familiarity with Jira and Confluence.
  • Experience in Capital Markets or Counterparty Credit Risk domains.
