Software Engineer

The Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) is seeking a Software Engineer 3 to join its IT Admin Apps Robotic Process Automation (RPA) team. This role will focus on designing, implementing, and maintaining robotic process automation (RPA) solutions. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in RPA development and process automation, with a strong background in Blue Prism, SQL/No-SQL databases, and RESTful web services. This is an onsite position based in Austin, Texas. Candidates must already reside in Texas.

Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with business stakeholders and process owners to identify automation opportunities and gather requirements.
Lead all aspects of RPA development, including discovery, solution design, development, testing, implementation, and production support.
Design, develop, and maintain automated workflows ensuring they are scalable, reliable, and efficient.
Monitor and optimize RPA scripts, improving performance through programming changes or configuration updates.
Test and debug RPA processes to ensure accuracy, reliability, and robustness.
Provide continuous improvement in RPA processes to enhance performance and operational efficiency.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
RPA Development (Blue Prism): A minimum of 8 years of hands-on experience in robotic process automation using Blue Prism is essential.
Database Expertise (SQL/No-SQL): At least 8 years of experience working with both SQL and No-SQL databases, ensuring efficient data management and integration.
RESTful Web Services: 8 years of practical experience with designing, developing, and maintaining RESTful web services.
Programming Languages: Proficiency in programming languages such as C#, Java, and Python, with a minimum of 4 years of experience in each.
Process Discovery & Solution Design: 4 years of experience in process discovery, requirements gathering, and developing solution architectures for automation projects.
Web Development: Solid knowledge of web development technologies, including HTML, JavaScript, DOM, and HTTP protocols (minimum 4 years of experience).
JDBC API Development: At least 4 years of experience with JDBC API development for seamless database connections.
Microsoft Azure: Experience in using Microsoft Azure infrastructure, with a focus on quality assurance, troubleshooting, and performance optimization, for at least 4 years
