Software Developer/ ML Engineer

Job Description:
Toyota Financial Services is seeking a skilled and experienced Software Developer / Machine Learning Engineer to help modernize and transform legacy data science models into scalable, production-ready cloud solutions. You will be responsible for rewriting legacy SAS code into Python, designing robust ML pipelines, implementing comprehensive testing strategies, and deploying models using modern cloud platforms like AWS SageMaker and Snowflake.

Must-Have Skills:
4–5+ years of hands-on experience in Python, SQL, and SAS

Experience transforming legacy codebases (especially SAS to Python)

Strong software engineering background (approx. 60% Software Dev / 40% Data Science)

Experience with AWS (especially SageMaker) and Snowflake

Proficiency in version control, CI/CD practices, and infrastructure-as-code

Graduate degree in a quantitative field or near completion

Experience in developing and deploying machine learning models in production

Good-to-Have / Preferred Skills:
Degree specifically in: Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, etc.

AWS Solutions Architect Associate certification

Familiarity with API frameworks (Flask, FastAPI)

Strong testing strategy implementation experience

Experience in collaborating with upstream/downstream data integration teams
