Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, deploy, manage, and maintain relational databases (preferably MySQL or PostgreSQL) in cloud-native environments.
  • Develop and maintain automated scripts and tools for database provisioning, monitoring, backups, scaling, and recovery.
  • Implement and support Kubernetes-based deployments for stateful workloads including database containers.
  • Optimize database performance including indexing, query tuning, and capacity planning.
  • Work on infrastructure as code (IaC) for database deployment and management using tools like Terraform, Ansible, or Helm.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure database reliability, scalability, and observability.
  • Perform proactive monitoring and alerting for database health, using tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK stack.
  • Participate in on-call rotations and incident response for database-related issues.

 

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience as a SRE DBA with Database administration skills.
  • Strong hands-on experience with MySQL or PostgreSQL in production environments.
  • Experience working with Kubernetes, especially managing stateful applications in containers.
  • Proficiency in scripting and automation using languages such as Python, Bash, or Go.
  • Experience with automation tools like Ansible, Terraform, Helm, or similar.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
