Description

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented ServiceNow CMDB Specialist to support the development, implementation, and maintenance of our Configuration Management Database (CMDB) in the ServiceNow platform. The ideal candidate will ensure the accuracy, integrity, and health of the CMDB and its relationships, supporting IT Service Management (ITSM), IT Operations Management (ITOM), and governance objectives.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain the ServiceNow CMDB structure, including classes, attributes, relationships, and CI data models.
  • Ensure data quality, completeness, and consistency through regular audits and automated health checks.
  • Integrate discovery tools (e.g., ServiceNow Discovery, SCCM, SolarWinds) to automate CI population and updates.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders (ITSM, infrastructure, application teams) to define CI requirements and governance standards.
  • Establish and enforce CMDB data management policies and processes.
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies in CMDB data through reconciliation and normalization.
  • Support CMDB-related reporting, dashboards, and analytics.
  • Work with ServiceNow developers to implement workflows, automation, and integrations as needed.
  • Provide training and guidance to teams responsible for CI data entry and updates.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with ServiceNow, with a focus on CMDB and Discovery modules.
  • Strong knowledge of ITIL processes, particularly Configuration Management and Asset Management.
  • Experience with ServiceNow Discovery and/or third-party discovery tools (SCCM, Qualys, etc.).
  • Familiarity with ITOM, Asset Management, and other ServiceNow modules is a plus.
  • Understanding of infrastructure components (servers, network, applications, cloud resources, etc.).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • ServiceNow certifications (e.g., CSA, CIS–Discovery, CIS–CMDB) are a plus.

 

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with scripting (JavaScript) and ServiceNow Flow Designer or Business Rules.
  • Knowledge of Service Graph Connectors and CMDB data onboarding tools.
  • Experience with data governance and metadata management frameworks.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their impact on CMDB structure
