Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Configure out-of-the-box workflows and create/maintain custom workflows using Flow Designer.
  • Integrate ServiceNow applications with third-party systems/applications via APIs.
  • Oversee development and customization in accordance with ServiceNow best practices to ensure system compliance.
  • Implement and manage integrations with data ingestion systems.
  • Lead discovery activities and implementation aligned with best practices.
  • Represent the CMDB as a specific technical domain within the IT organization.
  • Ensure CI data is accurately maintained and available for other ITSM processes.
  • Develop, document, and implement CI data governance processes and procedures.
  • Ensure the CMDB effectively supports Incident, Change, and Asset Management processes.
  • Develop and monitor CI data health reports and dashboards; resolve any identified issues.
  • Identify necessary CI classes, attributes, and relationship types proactively.
  • Address CI data, metric, process, or functionality gaps within the CMDB.
  • Ensure CIs are created or updated using only approved processes and procedures.
  • Develop and execute CI data audits, and address resulting issues.
  • Evaluate enhancement requests and propose appropriate solutions.
  • Validate CMDB functionality following ServiceNow platform upgrades and deployments.
  • Research and capture relationship data between CIs, Application Services, Business Applications, and Servers.
  • Refine and clean up different views for Configuration Items in ServiceNow.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure continuous improvement of CMDB design, governance, and execution.

Experience Requirements:

  • 5-10 years' experience with ServiceNow CMDB and its integration with ITSM processes such as Incident, Change, and Asset Management.
  • Proven experience in defining, documenting, and implementing CMDB governance and CI data audit processes.
  • Hands-on experience managing CI data and maintaining CI data integrity in ServiceNow.
  • Experience creating and troubleshooting CI Data Health reports and dashboards.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage competing demands and tasks effectively.
  • Experience working with stakeholders and CI Data Owners to define and improve processes.
  • Background in defining CI classes, attributes, relationships, and ensuring data accuracy and compliance.
