Senior SRE Engineer - Database

If this sounds exciting, we would love to hear from you! • Setup D/R for the managed & Unmanaged databases • Help engineering team to choose right set of databases. • Setup & Enhance strong monitoring environment. • Work with managed Databases like Spanner, Datastore, DynamoDB • Ensure access control on database. • Follow sound engineering practices. • Participate in planning activities and negotiate expectations. • Support micro services on cloud leveraging high scalability and high availability design patterns. • Contribute and participate in SW development processes and practices to ensure quality / on-time releases. • Provide technical expertise and ownership in the diagnosis and resolution of an issue, including the determination and provision of workaround solution or escalation to service owners. • Automate solutions for repeatable problems. • Part of On-call Rotation • Perform any ad-hoc responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

SKILLS ANDCOMPETENCIES • 5+ years of professional experience in the required task area , preferably in Information Technology (IT), software engineering or software development including cloud-based solutions and technologies • 3+ years of experience as a Database Administrator • 3+ years of experience with SQL & No-SQL databases ADDITIONAL SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES • Experience with open-source RDBMS databases - MySQL, RDS, CloudSQL • Experience with No-SQL databases - Elasticsearch, DynamoDB, • Experience with Time-series databases - Prometheus • Experience with HA & Disaster Recovery Planning & Implementation • Experience with Database security • Experience or knowledge of Dockers, Containers or Kubernetes • Strong understanding of authentication and authorization frameworks, cloud-based access, and security controls • Scripting language (bash, Perl, python) • Ability to learn and use skills on continuous basis. QUALIFICATION - Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering
