Senior Sql Database Administrator

Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced SQL Server DBA to join the team at a multinational banking financial services institution. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing large corporate databases and implementing robust encryption mechanisms for data both in transit and at rest. This position requires hands-on expertise, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work in a hybrid environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Database Administration:

Manage and maintain large-scale SQL Server databases for corporate applications.

Optimize database performance, including tuning and indexing.

Oversee backup, recovery, and high availability solutions (e.g., AlwaysOn, Log Shipping, Clustering).

Encryption & Security:

Implement and manage encryption at rest and encryption in transit to ensure data security.

Perform regular audits to ensure compliance with organizational security policies and standards.

Troubleshooting & Optimization:

Monitor and resolve database performance issues proactively.

Diagnose and address complex database issues to minimize downtime.

Collaboration & Support:

Work closely with developers and infrastructure teams to ensure seamless integration.

Provide guidance and mentorship on database best practices.

Required Skills & Experience:

Experience:

10-15 years of hands-on experience as a SQL Server DBA in a large corporate environment.

Proven expertise with SQL Server versions 2016, 2019, and 2022.

Encryption Expertise:

Strong knowledge of encryption in transit (TLS/SSL) and encryption at rest (TDE, Always Encrypted).

High Availability & DR:

Experience with AlwaysOn Availability Groups, Clustering, and other HA/DR solutions.

Technical Skills:

Advanced knowledge of T-SQL scripting, query optimization, and database design.

Familiarity with automation tools and monitoring solutions for SQL Server.

Other Skills:

Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a hybrid work setup.
