Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Lead end-to-end Appian (BPM, Workflow) application development, including design, build, test, and deployment.
  • Collaborate with architects, developers, and project managers to deliver suitable solutions that align with business needs.
  • Research and evaluate products in support of technical strategy. Design and implement new infrastructure technologies adhering to established standards and governance.
  • Contribute to the development of technical competencies among team members by mentoring and knowledge sharing.
  • Ensure all deliverables meet HSBC's quality standards and industry best practices.
  • Prepare project-related documentation and support compliance and audit activities.
  • Ensure documentation aligns with compliance and audit policies.
  • Provide professional consultancy and support in response to queries from developers and business teams regarding security access.
  • Work closely with global and regional stakeholders, as well as the global development team, on mandatory, regulatory, and development projects.
  • Ensure systems and applications comply with group infrastructure, security policies, and standards.

Experience Requirements:

  • 4-6 years experience working with Appian platforms.
  • Proficiency in database query building, optimization, and database solution design.
  • Familiarity with Business Process Management Systems or a strong willingness to self-learn BPM tools such as Appian.
  • Experience with Oracle SQL, PostgreSQL, MariaDB, SAIL, Appian Development, SQL, and Mule.
  • Ability to support applications at both the platform and application level.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills.
  • Demonstrated experience working in a multicultural environment, with the ability to adapt to different cultures.
  • Preferable experience with DevOps methodologies.
  • Experience in designing and developing integrations with third-party systems.
  • Good understanding of Agile Scrum methodologies and proficiency in tools such as JIRA.
  • Strong English communication and analytical skills, essential for operating in a complex global team environment.
  • A proactive and independent team player with the ability to work under pressure while managing competing priorities.
  • High attention to detail and the ability to clearly articulate designs and implementation approaches.
