Senior Power BI Developer

Job Summary:
At Impelsys we are seeking an experienced Senior Power BI Developer to design, build, and deploy business intelligence solutions that enable effective decision-making across the organization.

The candidate will need to have strong expertise in Power BI, data modeling (Dimension tables, fact tables, measures, metrics, KPI) and ETL processes, with a proven ability to handle complex datasets and deliver actionable insights.

Key Responsibilities:

Power BI dashboard development:
1. Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards, reports, and visualizations.
2. Implement row-level security (RLS), RBAC (Role based access control) and manage Power BI datasets.
3. Optimize Power BI solutions for performance and usability.

Data Modeling and ETL:
1. Design and develop efficient data models in Power BI.
2. Collaborate with data engineers to extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from multiple sources.
3. Ensure data accuracy and integrity by implementing robust validation mechanisms.

Stakeholder Collaboration:
1. Work with business analysts and stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
2. Provide training and support to end-users for Power BI tools.
3. Integrate Power BI with other data tools and platforms, such as AWS, Azure, SQL Server, and SharePoint.
4. Automate report generation and distribution processes.

Governance and Best Practices:
1. Develop and enforce best practices for Power BI development and deployment.
2. Stay updated on Power BI updates and emerging trends in BI tools and technologies.
3. Understanding of Customer Data / Event Data
4. Understanding of data sourcing in a pipeline setup - AWS s3, redshift or Azure SQL DB for dashboard development.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
7+ years of experience in business intelligence development, with at least 4 years focused on Power BI.
Expertise in Power BI Desktop, Power BI Service, and DAX (Data Analysis Expressions).
Proficiency in SQL and data warehousing concepts.
Experience with cloud-based solutions such as Azure or AWS is a plus.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Python or R for advanced analytics.
Knowledge of Agile methodologies.
Microsoft Power BI Certification (e.g., DA-100 or PL-300)
