Description

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement network architecture and configurations for LAN/WAN environments.
  • Monitor and manage Nektar Network Support for LAN infrastructure, including DHCP, DNS, WINS, VLANs, and QOS.
  • Perform troubleshooting activities to maintain LAN availability and support IP address management.
  • Engage in capacity planning and forecasting for data center LAN networks.
  • Conduct configuration implementation and testing of new network switches and routers.
  • Participate in annual failover testing and deployment of network hardware in IT infrastructure.
  • Work with routing protocols such as EIGRP, BGP, and ISIS, and switching protocols like STP and RSTP.
  • Provide Level 3 support and troubleshooting to resolve issues within defined SLAs.
  • Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and implement long-term fixes for network issues.
  • Perform code upgrades to network switches and routers to maintain security standards.
  • Collaborate with the team on network documentation and incident handling within data center environments.

Skills Required:

  • Strong expertise in LAN/WAN design and configuration
  • Experience with network protocols: EIGRP, BGP, ISIS, STP, RSTP
  • Good understanding of DHCP, DNS, VLANs, and QOS
  • Proficient in troubleshooting and root cause analysis (RCA)
  • Hands-on with network device configuration, monitoring, and upgrades
  • Knowledge of network security standards and failover strategies
  • Capable of providing L3-level network support

Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
