Key Responsibilities:
Legacy Application Maintenance: Maintain and enhance existing COBOL and ALGOL based applications, ensuring they remain functional, efficient, and meet business needs.
WFL Scripting: Develop, manage, and optimize WFL (Workflow Language) scripts for job scheduling and automation on Unisys MCP systems, ensuring the smooth execution of batch jobs and workflows.
Unisys MCP Knowledge: Utilize expertise in Unisys MCP (Master Control Program) to manage and support the Unisys mainframe environment, including OS management, job processing, and system configuration.
System Troubleshooting: Provide technical support for COBOL, ALGOL, WFL, and MCP-related issues, identifying root causes and resolving issues in a timely manner.
Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation for all systems, processes, and changes made, ensuring that the team can easily follow and maintain code.
Qualifications & Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
7+ years of experience in COBOL, ALGOL, and WFL development in a mainframe environment.
Expert knowledge of Unisys MCP, including system administration, job processing, and automation.
Extensive experience in maintaining and enhancing COBOL and ALGOL legacy applications.
Experience with batch processing, job scheduling, and workflow automation using WFL.
Strong troubleshooting skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues in COBOL, ALGOL, and MCP systems.
Ability to optimize and refactor legacy code for improved performance and scalability.
Familiarity with mainframe performance tuning techniques and methodologies.
Strong understanding of data migration and system integration for mainframe systems.
Experience with modernization projects, such as moving legacy systems to newer technologies or integrating mainframes with modern systems.
Familiarity with mainframe security and compliance standards.
Knowledge of mainframe disaster recovery procedures and practices.
Experience with Unisys MCP upgrade or migration projects.
Familiarity with other mainframe programming languages such as PL/I, Assembler, or JCL.

Any Graduate
