The Senior Linux Administrator will assist with the final technical planning and execution of a storage-based host migration programme. You will have an in-depth delivery understanding of Linux platforms and Logical Volume Managers, specifically Oracle ASM.

Role Responsibility
Serve as a technical point of contact in the delivery of Linux platform infrastructure technical change
Work closely with the Command and Control team to maintain a forward schedule of change and view of approved changes that are due next in line
Work closely with customers to ensure you understand their platform requirements and implement solutions best suited to deliver these requirements
Progress in- and out-of-hours technical migrations on business-critical systems
Work as part of a team on larger transformation and migration solutions
Responsible for the quality of all technical deliverables produced.
Ensure that engagement with support departments via the Command and Control team, is undertaken during implementation work
Provide technical support as requested, pre- and post- technical change
Produce/update all assignment documentation. Undertake knowledge transfer to customer or third party personnel
Attend and present progress reports at customer workshops and meetings

Candidate Essential
5+ years of Hands-on Delivery related work with Oracle ASM and related toolsets along with relevant Certifications; alternative Linux and commercial UNIX experience will be given full consideration.
Experience of implementation, transformation, and migration from small to large scale projects
Experience of working with end-customer teams under local change control, governance, and security processes on multiple projects
Knowledge of scripting/automation skills
Experience of Disaster Recovery test planning and execution
Understanding of Clustering, Hypervisor, & Volume Manager concepts
Understanding of storage concepts such as SANs & Block storage
Understanding of High Availability and Disaster Recovery concepts

Desirable
Financial sector experience including potential to undergo background checks and other clearance requirements
Understanding of Software Defined technologies & Automation tools e.g. Chef, Ansible
