Senior Gemfire Engineer

 Job Description

We are looking for an experienced and certified GemFire Engineer with a deep understanding of distributed caching systems and VMware Tanzu GemFire (formerly Pivotal GemFire). You will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and optimizing large-scale, high-availability, low-latency systems that power our enterprise solutions.

 Key Responsibilities

Design and implement scalable, highly available GemFire caching and data grid solutions

Manage cluster configurations, regions, partitioning, data replication, and eviction policies

Optimize performance through monitoring, tuning, and troubleshooting

Integrate GemFire with Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and backend systems

Implement security, backup/restore, and disaster recovery strategies

Automate deployment and monitoring with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tools

Mentor junior engineers and promote best practices

Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Architecture, DevOps, QA, and Product

Handle maintenance, version upgrades, and ensure infrastructure security

Required Skills & Experience

8+ years in enterprise software development, including 5+ years with GemFire

Deep expertise in GemFire architecture, partitioning, replication, transactions

Strong knowledge of Java, Spring Framework, Spring Data GemFire

Experience with WAN replication, CQ (Continuous Query), Lucene integration

Proficiency in distributed systems, microservices, and high-availability platforms

Hands-on with Linux/Unix, scripting (Shell/Python), networking fundamentals

Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, Prometheus, Grafana

Cloud integration experience (AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus

Certifications
Mandatory: VMware Tanzu GemFire Certification (or equivalent)

Additional certifications in cloud, containers, or distributed systems are a plus

Education
Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
