Job Description

  • Support projects to develop and utilize the existing monitoring platform
  • Administer monitoring applications and servers including support, trouble shooting, optimization, and upgrades
  • Evaluate the strategic contribution of applications and alignment with overall IT strategies and architectures
  • Identify areas where automation can be utilized with the monitoring infrastructure and design solutions to support automation
  • Maintain an accurate inventory of the IT portfolio of technologies, and a disposition status (ex. contain, maintain, deploy, retire) of all business applications
  • Provide occasional off-hours support for monitoring tools

Required Skills

  • Experience working with third party vendors for application support with emphasis on the following tools: IBM Netcool/NOIExperience with NOI related events and scope-based correlation development.
  • Extensive experience administering and developing NOI components such as Impact, Web GUI, Probes, Object Servers and gateways. 
  • Experience with a wide array of monitoring technologies such as SNMP, ICMP, syslog, MIBs, webhook. 
  • Experience with scripting, particularly PERL and Python. 
  • Linux and Windows administration experience. 
  • Network connectivity troubleshooting experience.  Understand network protocols TCP/IP, HTTP, ICMP. 
  • Experience working with databases and writing SQL queries

Desired Skills

  • Experience with IBM Cloud Pak for AIOps
  • 10+ years administration of fault and performance monitoring applications
  • 5+ systems administration (Linux/Windows)
  • Understanding of web services- SOAP/REST
  • Experience working with data center operations teams
  • Experience managing or supporting monitoring and/or automation for a large enterprise network with business-critical applications

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and relevant experience
  • 10+ years related experience
