Senior Data Solutions Engineer

Job Summary:
This role will support the development of a new cloud environment, leading efforts around data analysis, profiling, cleansing, governance, and conversion from legacy to cloud technologies.
The ideal candidate will drive data strategy, oversee a small team of database developers, and support data integration and quality assurance across the SDLC.

Key Responsibilities Include:
Lead cloud design and data migration strategies
Manage and document data models, mappings, dictionaries, and flow diagrams
Establish best practices for data cleansing, retention, governance, and security
Supervise 2 database programmers and coordinate with app, security, and infra teams
Use tools like SQL Server, DB2, SSIS, and data cleansing/governance tools
Ensure data integrity, quality, and reporting in both legacy and cloud systems

Required Skills & Experience:
10+ years in database design, SQL Server, and DB2
10+ years in data conversion, cleansing, and migration
Strong knowledge of SDLC methodologies and application support/testing
5+ years leading/supervising IT teams
Excellent documentation, troubleshooting, and communication skills
Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications:
Azure or MS Cloud certification
SQL Server SSIS framework experience
Familiarity with Parquet text files
