Description

  • Workflow design with dependencies, retries, conditions, and branching logic.
  • Scheduling expertise including time-based and event-driven schedules.
  • Orchestration strategy across Windows, Linux, mainframe, and cloud platforms.

Platform Knowledge (Rocket Enterprise Orchestrator)

  • Installing and configuring EO components including control servers and agents.
  • Creating and managing jobs, parameters, and execution logic.
  • Implementing security via RBAC, LDAP, Active Directory, and SSL/TLS.
  • Familiar with Rocket Zeke and Rocket Zena solutions

Scripting & Integration

  • Writing automation scripts in Shell, PowerShell, Python, or REXX.
  • Using REST APIs for job triggering and workflow control.
  • Integrating with DevOps and ITSM tools like Jenkins, GitLab, and ServiceNow.

Cross-Platform & Cloud Integration

  • Orchestrating workloads across hybrid environments (on-prem, cloud, mainframe).
  • Database and file integration for data-driven automation.
  • Connecting REO with Rocket Zeke and z/OS workloads.

Monitoring, Optimization & Compliance

  • Setting up job monitoring dashboards and alerts.
  • Tuning performance to optimize workload efficiency.
  • Ensuring logging, reporting, and audit trails for governance.

Process and Communication Skills

  • Project Implementation experience.
  • Strong Team collaboration.
  • Translating business requirements into technical workflows.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams across IT and DevOps.
  • Documenting configurations and training team members on REO usage.

 

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience with enterprise workload automation platforms, including Rocket Enterprise Orchestrator or similar competitive tools.
  • Strong scripting skills in Shell, PowerShell, Python, or equivalent.
  • Hands-on experience with REST APIs and job orchestration across hybrid environments.
  • Proficiency with security practices including LDAP, Active Directory, RBAC, and SSL/TLS configuration.
  • Ability to integrate with DevOps pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub), ITSM tools (e.g., ServiceNow), and cloud platforms.
  • Knowledge of mainframe batch processes and legacy system integration (a plus).
  • Strong communication, documentation, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience)
