Description

Seeking a Senior Cisco Network Architect (CCIE) to design, implement, and maintain complex network infrastructures for a state IT department. The role involves ensuring secure, high-performance networking using Cisco technologies, compliance with government standards, and collaboration with IT teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Network Architecture: Design scalable and secure enterprise networks using Cisco routers, switches, and firewalls.
  • Routing & Switching: Implement OSPF, BGP, MPLS, and Layer 2/3 switching technologies (STP, VLANs, VXLAN).
  • Wireless Networking: Deploy Cisco Meraki/Catalyst WLAN solutions, ensuring high security and optimal coverage.
  • Security & Compliance: Implement firewalls, VPNs, IPS, and meet NIST/FISMA/HIPAA compliance standards.
  • Performance & Troubleshooting: Use tools like Cisco Prime, SolarWinds for monitoring, optimization, and issue resolution.
  • Collaboration & Leadership: Work with IT teams, vendors, and mentor junior engineers.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain network diagrams, technical documentation, and generate performance/security reports.
  • Disaster Recovery: Implement redundancy (HSRP, VRRP) and business continuity strategies.
  • Emerging Technologies: Research and integrate new solutions (e.g., SDN, 5G, IoT).

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • CCIE Certification (or equivalent experience).
  • Expert-level knowledge of Cisco networking, security, and wireless protocols.
  • Hands-on experience with Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless controllers.
  • Strong understanding of QoS, network segmentation, and high-availability solutions.
  • Leadership experience in team management and mentoring
