Roles and Responsibilities:
- Define and lead end-to-end solution architectures for complex, multi-domain programs within Business Lending.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across business and technology to ensure solutions align with enterprise architecture principles and business objectives.
- Guide and mentor architects and engineers across squads, ensuring high-quality delivery and architectural integrity.
- Drive the modernization of legacy platforms, including the transformation from mainframes and monoliths to microservices and cloud-native technologies.
- Contribute to the architectural direction for specialized lending products such as equipment finance, leasing, and structured loans.
- Ensure compliance with APRA prudential standards (e.g., CPS220, CPS230, CPS232) and security, availability, and resiliency requirements.
- Develop and maintain architecture artefacts such as high-level designs, reference architectures, decision logs, and technical roadmaps.
- Engage in vendor product evaluations and drive architecture for both in-house and COTS/SaaS solutions.
- Support integration design using REST APIs, Kafka-based eventing, and enterprise messaging patterns.
- Provide input on data architecture including data lakes, lakehouses, and reporting strategies
Skills Required:
- 18+ years total experience in technology with 10+ years in architecture.
- Minimum 5 years as an end-to-end solution architect in large, regulated enterprises.
- 5+ years in banking, with at least 3 years in commercial or business lending.
- Proven expertise with COBOL mainframes, VSAM, JCL, DB2, and legacy system modernization.
- Experience with cloud platforms, especially AWS and Azure.
- Deep understanding of microservices, Spring Boot, API integration, and event-driven systems (Kafka).
- Familiarity with loan management systems, credit decisioning, collateral management, and lending product lifecycles.
Highly Desirable:
- Leadership experience in legacy transformation programs.
- Experience with .NET, C#, IBM MQ, React, Node.js, and Serverless architectures.
- Familiarity with SaaS solutions, cloud security, and resilient architecture design in regulated industries.
- Working knowledge of BIAN standards.
- Exposure to data architecture, including data lakes and analytical platforms.

Education:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Architect, Microsoft Azure Architect) preferred.
- Architecture certifications (e.g., TOGAF) are advantageous
