Senior Analyst - Data Science

Key Skills:  SQL, Python, AWS Cloud, QLIK Sense.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Design efficient data models in Qlik or backend by minimizing the number of tables, using appropriate data types, and ensuring proper indexing.
• Build dashboards that are clean, intuitive, and focused, avoiding unnecessary objects or calculations.
• Regularly monitor Qlik Sense server and memory performance. Scale up or optimize server resources to support a growing number of sessions and maintain fast loading times.
• Leverage incremental load and data caching capabilities to refresh only new or changed data.
• Set up monitoring for BAU and recurring SQL queries to track their average runtime. Identify and optimize bottlenecks such as missing indexes, inefficient joins, or large table scans to maintain target runtimes.
• Develop and enforce a structured system for storing, categorizing, and documenting all SQL queries and dependencies. Promote reusability and reduce redundant query development.
• Write clear, concise, and highly optimized SQL queries based on business needs. Collaborate with business stakeholders to accurately translate requirements into data extraction and analysis logic.
• Set up dashboards and automated alerts for business users to leverage.
• Implement scheduling and automation (e.g., auto-emailers, dashboards) for recurring queries or requirements. Set up alert mechanisms for failed queries or those exceeding thresholds.
• Explore and pilot emerging technologies, especially Generative AI tools, for tasks such as SQL query generation, insight generation, query optimization, code review, and automation.
• Build or integrate APIs with Microsoft Teams or web frontends for recurring requests.
• Enable self-serve analytics across the organization. Explore and implement Generative AI capabilities that support innovative organizational solutions.
• Maintain code and query repositories using Git or CodeCommit, ensuring proper version control and documentation.

Experience Requirement:

• 2-6 years of experience in data analytics, data modeling, dashboard development, and SQL optimization.
• Strong hands-on experience with Qlik Sense, SQL, data visualization, and performance tuning.
• Experience in implementing automation workflows and integrating APIs.
• Exposure to Generative AI tools and their application in data-related tasks is a plus.
• Familiarity with version control tools such as Git or AWS CodeCommit.
