Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate daily stand-ups, sprint planning, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Partner with Product Owners to ensure a well-maintained product backlog aligned with business priorities.
  • Track and communicate team progress, sprint metrics, and performance indicators to stakeholders.
  • Identify, track, and help resolve impediments and risks that may impact delivery.
  • Coach team members and stakeholders on Agile practices, principles, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with DHHS policies, standards, and state/federal regulations.
  • Collaborate with business analysts, developers, testers, and project managers to drive delivery.
  • Promote an environment of collaboration, accountability, and transparency across teams.
  • Support the adoption of Agile best practices across the DHHS enterprise.

 

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 12 years of IT project delivery experience, with at least 7 years as a dedicated Scrum Master.
  • Scrum Master Certification (CSM, PSM, SAFe-SM, or equivalent) – REQUIRED.
  • Proven experience leading Agile teams on large-scale enterprise or government IT projects.
  • Strong knowledge of Agile frameworks (Scrum, SAFe, Kanban, etc.) and SDLC methodologies.
  • Excellent facilitation, coaching, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficiency with Agile tools such as Jira, Rally, Azure DevOps, or equivalent.
  • Ability to work onsite 2 days per week in Lansing, MI.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience working with Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) or other public health/government agencies.
  • Experience in healthcare systems, Medicaid, or human services programs.
  • Advanced certifications (e.g., SAFe Program Consultant, PMI-ACP, CSP-SM) are a plus
